Pisco Sour Recipe
A
Pisco Sour is a delicious drink that tastes like a cross between a
margarita and a whiskey sour. If you've never had this Peruvian
delight, you're in for a real treat.
Be careful though, you can drink about 3 of these before you realize how drunk you really are. I was literally climbing trees after 5 of them one night in Lima. Good times, good times.
If you need an excuse (ha! like you need an excuse) to drink them, Peru celebrates the drink on the first Saturday of February and Chile's Pisco National Day is celebrated on May 15th.
This recipe is my most favorite version and the classic. You can find other recipes that use lemon or granulated sugar but I've found they don't taste quite as yummy.
Ingredients
- 2 oz Pisco
- 1 oz Lime Juice
- 1/4 oz Simple Syrup
- 1/2 Egg White
- 1 dash Angostura Bitters (garnish)
Directions
Put all ingredients in a cocktail shaker. Shake hard with ice. Strain into a champagne flute or martini glass.Garnish the drink with the bitters.
The following measurements are equal: 1 oz = 30ml = 1 tot = 1 shot = 3cl
