Party Planning for a
Legendary Party

You've started your party planning and you want to throw a party that becomes L-E-G-E-N-D-A-R-Y but you’re not sure how to do that? Party planning becomes simple using the three principles of legendary parties!

1) Extreme Theme - pick a party theme and take it to the extreme!
2) Engaging Entertainment - include crazy, fun entertainment that gets your guests involved!
3) Paparazzi Photos - create pictures to remember!

1) Extreme Theme
Your theme doesn’t have to be original but the more specific theme you have, the better. It will help you focus your energy and your guest will know exactly what to expect. Wanna have a pool party? Make it a 70’s Disco Pool Party. Wanna have a birthday party? Make it a Double-Dog-Dare-You Birthday Party. Having trouble thinking of a theme? You can enhance any theme by adding a period of time. Be specific here - 80’s isn’t specific enough, make it 80’s Hip Hop or 80’s Glam Rock.

Once you’ve selected your theme, take it to the extreme! Start by creating an atmosphere of fun around your specific theme. If you’re throwing a 70’s Disco Pool Party, have disco balls up everywhere, have disco music playing, have wigs for your guests to put on to help them get in the mood. Better yet, ask them all to wear 70’s disco gear to your party. Decorations and music really set the mood.

Add to the atmosphere with creative food and drinks that also tie into your theme. For your 70’s Disco Pool Party, have a ‘Stayin’ Alive’ cocktail (mix equal parts Redbull and flavored vodka), Macho Men burgers, and Disco Inferno Poppers (jalapeno poppers). Creatively naming food you love is an easy way to make food match your theme.

2) Engaging Entertainment
Get your guests involved with several zany activities! The idea here is to have people involved and doing things that are fun and different than what they normally do. And of course, all your activities should match your theme. If you’re throwing a Double-Dog-Dare-You Birthday Party, invite your guests to bring their dogs and see whose dog can do the most tricks. More ideas include having an old-fashioned Double-Dog-Dare-You Truth or Dare game! You could also have a hot dog eating contest and even gave a pass the footlong hotdog without using your hands game.

Also remember that kid’s games are not only for kids, so think about the games you loved as a child and resurrect them for your party. Red Rover anyone?

3) Paparazzi Photos
Last, but certainly not least, take some paparazzi-worthy photos! If you have your guests dress up, that’s usually enough. If you don’t, create a place or way to make memories that your friends will want to show their friends. For your Double-Dog-Dare-You Birthday Party, have a big hot dog costume that people can get into for photos. Or have hot dog hats or necklaces. You can also make your own hot dog stand and cut out a place for people’s faces. The ideas are limitless once you have a specific theme.

By using your imagination and applying the three party planning principles of a legendary party, your party will be a huge success! All your friends will wonder how you did it and you alone will know the secrets. Happy party throwing!
