Jello Shots

Delicious jello shots bring any party to life! There are SOOOO many ways to do this so experiment and have lots of fun!

Jello Shots 101 Recipe

This is the basic recipe to use as a base for your shots.

Ingredients

• 10 oz vodka
• 2 (3 oz) packages of Jello
• 2 cups boiling water
• 1 cup cold water

Directions
Set out your shot glasses or paper cups on a tray. 

Bring water to a boil and remove from heat. Dissolve the packages of Jello in 2 cups boiling water, stirring at least 2 minutes, until gelatin is dissolved. Stir in ice-cold water and vodka.

Pour mixture into shot glasses or paper cups. 

Let shots set in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours.

Tips

1. Spray your cups lightly with non-flavored (for baking) Pam so the jello doesn’t stick to the cups.
2. Use a pitcher to pour the liquid jello into cups or syringes.
3. Freeze your alcohol for at least an hour before making the shots to minimize vapor loss.
4. You can mess with the measurements in the recipe, but be careful. If you put too much liquor and not enough water, the Jello won't set and you'll have a big ol' non-gelled mess.
   

Gourmet Shot Ideas

You can take the recipe above and change it up to make a ton of different gourmet shots! All you have to do is figure out the proof of your alcohol because the higher the proof, the more cold water you will need so your shots will set. 

Here’s a chart that spells it out:

30-50 proof: Use 13-ounces of alcohol and 3-ounces of cold water.
80-100 proof: Use 10-ounces of alcohol and 6-ounces of cold water.
150-200 proof: Use 6-ounces of alcohol and 10-ounces of cold water.
