How to Have a Guitar Hero Tournament
Big screen TVs rule here so have your game console set up to one. If you don’t have a big screen, that’s ok too. Be sure there is plenty of seating around whatever TV you do have.Download our bracket. It is a 16-person, single elimination bracket.
Depending on the playing level of your friends, here are a few
options for your tourney.
Just Starting Friends:
--Easy for Round 1, Medium for Round 2 and Hard for Round 3
More Advanced Friends:
--Medium for Round 1, Hard for Round 2, and Expert for Round 3
Lots of Friends with varying levels:
--Have multiple brackets - one easy and one expert. This way you’ll
also have two winners!
You’ll notice that the bracket has a place for song selections. It is best to pick songs before the tourney so that there are no broken guitars. Feel free to use bonus songs if you have them.
Let the Competition Begin!
Have your friends face off in head-to-head battle! They aren’t just playing for the highest score, they also have to win over the crowd! When the battle is over have the crowd applaud, scream,
hoot-n-holler, and throw lacy things for their favorite! The crowd fav
wins additional performance points! I suggest adding the following
points for pleasing the fans:
15,000 for Easy songs
30,000 for Medium songs
45,000 for Hard songs
60,000 for Expert songs
The player with the highest points from playing & pleasing the crowd moves on to the next battle!
Keep battling on until a the final showdown, when the winner is chosen!
The winner wins bragging rights and the ability to make anyone in the room chug a beer.
Party Game Cost - $0-180
If you already have a beer, the game, console & the guitars, you’ve got zero cost! Even if you don’t have the game or hardware, one of your friends does. Borrow it and make sure they are in the tourney! If you want to buy it, a 'guitar hero' search at Amazon.com will get you
all you need. Don’t forget that you’ll need two guitar controls to
battle!
