One of the team members is the Team Ref and should be near the table. The Team Ref is responsible for making sure that beer cups/shot glasses are full and administering the math quiz in round 4.
Player 3 from the team should be anywhere they choose on the field of play, as long as it is at least two arms lengths away from the starting line and be holding a football. The rest of the team should be at the starting line.
Playing the Beer Team Relay
The Beer Team Relay begins when the Relay Ref yells "Go".Round 1 - Ball Toss
Player
3 throws the ball to Player 1. If the pass attempt is not successful,
Player 1 returns the ball to Player 3, go back to the start line and
try again to catch a pass from player three.
When Player 1 successfully catches the pass from Player 3, Player 1 runs to the table at the finish line. Player 3 will return to the start line.
Round 2 - Quarters
At
the table, Player 1 must drink the 1/2 cup of beer. Then they must
successfully bounce 3 quarters into a shot glass. For each miss, they
take a shot of beer. The Team Ref is responsible for ensuring the beer
shots are taken and that the shot glass is full of beer so that no time
is lost.
Once Player 1 has successfully bounced 3 quarters into the shot glass, they run back to the start line and tag Player 2.
Round 3 - Player Carry
Player
2 must carry Player 3 to the table at the finish line and grab the
unopened beer and return Player 3 to the start line. If at any time any
part of Player 3 touches the ground, they must start over. The start
over point is either the start line or, if they have the unopened beer,
the table. Player 3 hands the beer to Player 5. Player 5 should begin
chugging.
Round 4 - Math Quiz
Player 4 runs to the
table and begins the Math Quiz. The Math Quiz consists of taking a shot
and then answering a simple math question. Player 4 must successfully
answer 3 questions in a row. If they miss a question, they start over
to answer 3 new questions. The Team Ref is responsible for asking the
math questions and keeping the beer shot glass full.
Once Player 4 passes the Math Quiz, they run back to the start line and tag Player 5.
Round 5 - Wheelbarrow
Player
5 must have finished the beer given to him/her in Round 3 before they
can continue the relay. Player 5 should be drinking while Player 4 is
taking the Math Quiz.
Once the beer is finished, Player 5 will grab any other available team member and wheelbarrow down to the finish line and back to the start line.
Wheelbarrowing is where one player has their hands on the ground and a second player holding their legs at the ankle. The two players must work together with one player walking on their hands and the other player walking normally and holding the first player.
If at any time, the wheelbarrow team is broken apart, they may start again from the point of breakage.
Final Round, 6 - Team Taps
Once
the wheelbarrow team is back, all players, including the Team Ref, must
run to the table at the finish line and compete in taps. Standard taps
rules apply. The first team to successfully flip their last cup WINS!
