- Microphone
- Paper

Set Up
Set up a stage. This could be raised or not but an area needs to be set apart. To honor your pageant, decorate a backdrop for the back of your stage. It can be as simple as a line of balloons or as elaborate as having a professional backdrop.Find a host for the pageant! This could be you or you could enlist someone. Your host should be someone that is comfortable using a mic, has a sense of humor, gets the theme of the party, and can keep things on track. This is the person that will keep the show running. You know you have this person in your group, just ask them and they’ll be all over this!
Have each of your contestants write "Mr." or "Ms." and something to identify them on a piece of paper. Match this to your theme. For example, if you’re doing an Around the World theme, have contestants write the name of a country on their paper.
Pin these papers to the contestants so they can be identified by the host and the judges.
Let the Competition Begin
Now your competition can begin!
Have your host introduce the pageant. They can make this as funny as they like and it should tie in with your theme. For example, if you’re throwing a birthday party, the host should feel free to make jokes or roast the birthday boy/girl.
The host should also let the crowd know what to expect, a three round contest, with equal scoring for each round.
Round 1 - Themed Posing
Have the contestants all on stage at one time for this. Have them to do 3-5 different poses and hold the poses for 10-15 seconds so the judges can mark scores. If you have a lot of contestants, this can be done in groups. The poses should match your theme. For example:
Around the World Theme - Statue of Liberty pose or a Stuck-Up
International Model Pose
Birthday Party - Pose as the guest of honor. Mix this up with ‘pose like Birthday Boy got busted doing something naughty’ or ‘pose like Birthday Girl just had her bikini waxed’.
Patriotic Theme - Pose like current US political people or famous US celebs. I’m thinking ‘pose like Britney getting caught by the paparazzi’.
Round 2 - Themed Interview
This should be done individually with the host asking one contestant one question. You can ask the same question to all the contestants but if you have a lot of contestants then your party will become a snooze. This is where your amazing host comes in with a list of questions related to your theme. Here are some question examples to get you started:
Around the World Theme - If you were in Ecuador and asked to lick a
girl’s eye, what would you do? If you were on Madagascar and a zebra
bit you, how would you react?
Birthday Party - What did you think of Birthday Boy when you first met him? If a bear were to attack you and Birthday Girl, what would you do?
Patriotic Theme - What do you like about our current administration? What do you think Americans should do when the national anthem is being played?
Tip: Don’t ask questions where a contestant can give a simple yes or no answer.
Round 3 - The Talent
This should be done individually by each contestant. This one is really up to the contestant to show off whatever talent they may or may not have. Sometimes the best talent is no talent at all.Judging
You have a couple of options for judging. You can have a judging panel or simply make everyone judge. Feel free to use our handy free printable pageant game score cards to help your judges.Have the host tally the results and announce a winner! Spread the joy and have a male and female winner. Be sure to crown your winner and give them a prize.
Party Game Cost - $15-30
Assuming you have paper and markers at home, the biggest cost here is the backdrop. If you don’t have a microphone or know how to set one up, ask around, someone does.Remember, adult party games don't have to be expense, they just have to be fun!
